MURPH'S MIDNIGHT ROUNDERS
The Green Album debuted at the Caldera Fest in Lafeyette, Georgia on May 27, 2016. The album's release was such a huge success with the sales over the course of three days, the Green Album's contributions (from that one weekend only) saved 1,817 Acres of the Balanga forest Reserve in the Congo! Thanks in part to all the contributions and support from fans just like you we continue to be a big contributor in the conservation of the rainforest all over the world and help preserve this earth for our future generations.
Rainforest Trust just received exciting news from our local Congolese partner that the 2.2-million-acre Lomami National Park in the Democratic Republic of the Congo is now officially declared! On July 7th, the park was voted into existence by the Conseil de Ministres (Ministers' Council). Per the Rainforest Trust "We are rejoicing – and we have you and our local partner to thank for this immense win for conservation!".
Nearly the size of Yellowstone National Park, the new Lomami National Park preserves vital rainforest habitat and essential wildlife corridors in the heart of the Congo basin for endangered Bonobos, Okapis, Forest Elephants and other threatened wildlife. It is also the first national park to be declared in the DRC in over two decades.
Even with this incredible achievement complete, we are already working with our local partner on the next step to expand the protected area by establishing a new 1,194,507-acre Balanga Forest Reserve alongside Lomami.
